This training course summarizes 10 difficult points on occupational health and put forward 10 corresponding strategies and solutions which are targeted, easy operation, practical, low-cost and consistent with our national circumstances.

This workshop will provide you with a working knowledge of how to select proper control strategies beginning with a review of how to design and balance ventilation systems and select air cleaners and fans through testing, troubleshooting and maintenance. Our instructors will share hands-on experience on: pitfalls of improper ventilation system design, properly controlling airborne contaminants, troubleshooting, performance testing, as well as measures for reducing fire and explosion hazards, and identifying energy saving opportunities. This course emphasizes practical aspects and applications of ventilation design and is specifically intended for professionals who want to enhance their knowledge of industrial ventilation problem solving.

Instructor:

Kimmy QIAN, M.S., CIH

Kimmy Qian has more than 11 years of professional experience in the field of industrial hygiene (IH), occupational health, ergonomics, and employee wellness. Mr. Qian has extensive specialty experiences and skills in anticipating, evaluating, and analyzing industrial occupational health hazards and designing occupational health conservation programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent diseases or injuries caused by harmful work environments.

Mr. Qian has worked as a regional industrial hygiene and occupational health specialist for Fortune 500 companies such as 3M, Dupont, and Dow Corning for the past 11 years. Mr. Qian graduated from Fudan University with a master degree in occupational health and a bachelor degree in preventive medicine. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, and has a certificate of doctor in Clinical Medicine and a certificate of doctor in Public Health in China .

 

Lany Chen, CIH

Lany Chen has more than 10 years of professional experience in the field of industrial hygiene (IH), occupational health, and occupational safety. Ms. Chen has extensive specialty skills in occupational health hazard anticipation, recognition, evaluation and controls for industries like petrochemicals and labor intensive electronics manufacturing. She is proficient in establishing EHS management systems, improving EHS cultures, and conducting EHS audits.

Ms. Chen has worked as an industrial hygienist, IH&OH leader, and EHS manager for an American specialty materials company and a Fortune 500 company for the past 10 years. She graduated from Suzhou University with a bachelor degree in preventive medicine. She is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and has a certificate of doctor in Public Health in China.

 

David Lu, Ph.D., CIH, CSP, PE

David Lu has 20 years of work experience in the environment, health and safety profession, including 13 years of experience in the United States. Dr. Lu has extensive hands-on experiences and unique perspectives in occupational health risk identification, risk assessment, and engineering controls. His global experience will help you truly understand your occupational health risks and show you feasible and practical solutions to your occupational hgyeiene and occupational health challenges.

Dr. Lu received his B.S. and M.S. in Safety Engineering from China and Ph.D. in industrial hygiene at Purdue University. Dr. Lu is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH), a Certified Safety Professional(CSP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), and a Professional Engineer (PE) in Heating Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC).




Abraham Lu, CIH

Abraham Lu had worked in the chemical & pharmaceutical manufacturing environment for more than 10 years.  His professional experiences covered both operation and safety, and he is familiar with both batch operation & continuous process. He has a deep understanding of the technical tools ranging from exposure assessment to process hazard analysis. Mr. Lu owns good knowledge of health and safety regulatory bodies’ requirements which include OSHA standards, UK HSE regulations, & Chinese GB codes.

Mr. Lu worked as an EHS professional since 2009, previously for a catalyst manufacturing site of the world’s leading platinum group metals company, and then for a Fortune 500 company’s chemical plant of fluorine products. He graduated from Nanjing University of Technology with a bachelor degree in environmental engineering. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and has a Certified Safety Engineer in China.
